Workplace conditions play a direct role in influencing mental health, making it an organisational responsibility—not just an individual one. When prioritised, it strengthens resilience, improves performance, and supports sustainable, long-term growth for both people and organisations.

Mental health at work is shaped by everyday conditions—how people are supported, managed, and expected to perform. On World Mental Health Day, 10th October, the Mental Well-being for All initiative—organised by the Abhyas Institute of Universal Awareness—highlighted the growing importance of this issue at both public and policy levels.

In his address, the President of Mauritius emphasised that conversations like these are “extremely important for the public but also for policy makers”, and noted that mental health will become an even bigger issue in the days to come. He encouraged that the insights and learnings generated must be shared, built upon, and translated into meaningful action for wider impact.
